By Edward James "Ted" Kelly

Candidate for Member, City Council; City of Newman

This information is provided by the candidate
Newman is a beautiful city to raise a family and it must remain that way!
Because Newman has a great downtown, decent schools and nice people, developers are constantly knocking on the door. They have purchased a lot of the land surrounding Newman and would begin building tomorrow if given the signal. Our City Manager, Mike Holland, along with the City Council, are the gate keepers. They have the power to say who, when and where a project may be built. With much Thanks to Mike, Newman is now headed in the right direction in negotiating with developers. If elected I would work to make sure Newman continues on the track where anyone wanting to build in Newman needs to understand that they will be paying for all the infrastructure (water, water treatment, sewers, etc.), schools, parks, police, fire that will be required to support their project. If that is a problem, please look else where to build.
