The Regional Solution

By Janice E. Keating

Candidate for County Supervisor; County of Stanislaus; Supervisorial District 4

It's time to work together on 'our home', Stanislaus County
I want to bring a deeper regional perspective to governance in our community. We all drive the same roads, breath the same air, and drink the same water. It's time to work together on `our home', Stanislaus County.

Focusing on regional solutions to our current deficits in transportation infrastructure will allow people to move freely, alleviate gridlock and frustration. The countywide transportation sales tax would be a significant funding source and added to current local road funding would expedite these solutions.

Water is a precious and finite resource and should be considered a regional issue with solutions openly discussed among our cities. Private sector investment and innovation along with utility rate structures will keep our water here in Stanislaus County, not sold or taken as surplus to the Bay Area or Southern California.
