Smart Voter Official Statement for Lawrence R. Wiesner

Candidate for
State Senator; District 2

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

My fellow Californians, we members of the general public, who have been neglected for so long by career politicians, have the opportunity to send Sacramento a clear message that we wish something to be done about: illegal immigration, gang violence, out-of-control spending, failing schools, substandard roads and unprecedented costs for gas, housing, health care and other necessities.

Before anything else, we are Californians and we seek people we trust to serve us well in the legislative bodies of our state government. As a veteran of our country's armed forces, I have taken the oath to defend and protect this great land and will continue to stand against any threat -- foreign or domestic. In my professional work as a Certified Public Accountant, I am aware of the need for good choices in order to expect good outcomes. And, as a native son of California and a graduate of the public school system and state colleges, I know that public education can be effective and will do all within my power to return education in California to its luster of yesteryear.

Now it's up to you, more of the same, or something new. I hope you will give me your vote and let me work hard to honor your trust.
