Smart Voter Official Statement for Kathy Mullins

Candidate for
Board Member; Bellevue Union School District

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Bellevue Schools deserve a board that will put the needs of the classroom and the students above all else. I am an advocate for making sure our students have up to date textbooks and materials. I believe that students cannot learn if we don't keep schools safe and secure. And I believe in investing in our professionals with teacher training.

I worked in these very classrooms for 33 years and I know that we cannot make good decisions without talking to the people who are on the front lines every day helping our kids. We cannot improve our schools by only listening to Sacramento bureaucrats. Parents, teachers, classified employees and the local community have so much to offer and we need to listen.

I have been a very visible and accessible board member. You see me attending school functions and classrooms on a monthly basis. You see me in the community as I have lived here for 44 years. I want to continue to partner with the entire school community.

Thank you for the faith you have shown me these last four years, I respectfully ask for your vote.
