Smart Voter Official Statement for Primo R. Galban, Jr.

Candidate for
Board Member; Bellevue Union School District

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

As a parent of four, naturally I have a personal stake in the progress and welfare of the district schools. But good schools are more than a personal interest. The future of California is dependent upon good schools for all our children. We must provide the tools for success -- such as up to date textbooks and materials. And we must be accountable to our community with strong oversight of our budget.

As a financial accountant and planner, I will bring to the board desperately needed expertise with budgets. The taxpayers and students deserve no less. The board needs to budget based on student need and not on the whims of Sacramento. I know how to keep a budget in balance and avoid the costly mistakes that would hurt our kids and our staff.

I believe parental participation strengthens our school community. My family has a long history of service to our schools. However, I realize that not all parents have that opportunity. We must find ways to help bring parents and teachers together to help our students.

I promise to treat the concerns for all children as if they were my own. Thank you for your vote.
