Beverly Fitch McCarthy Age 73 I came to Stockton in 1962 to teach and counsel at San Joaquin Delta College. I retired in 1985. I am married with six grown children. My life has been devoted to education and community service. At this time in my life I would like to continue serving by representing District 5 on the SUSD School Board. I bring to this position a BA from the University of California, Berkeley, an MA from Stanford University, and 60 years of volunteer work. I understand the importance of being in communication with parents, teachers, students and staff and will enthusiastically welcome their suggestions. I have first hand experience in public fiscal management and will strive for expanded participation in the district's budget planning process. I am eager to create and bring out the best in others. I take risks because I know that overcaution and indecision are robbers of opportunity and success. I can make decisions and plans that affect future generations, because I know that indecision will forfeit everyone's future. I am committed to excellence in all aspects of education. I will be conscientious in my duties as a trustee and will serve with dignity, integrity, fiscal responsibility, and the courage of my convictions. |
