Give Residents Top Priority

By Betty Rexford

Candidate for Council Member; City of Poway

This information is provided by the candidate
I am committed to keeping Poway one of the finest places to live in California:

By being fiscally conservative. It's time for Poway to limit spending to ensure funding to maintain infrastructure and to minimize residents' fees for water and other services.

By protecting Poway's General Plan against the relentless pressures for unplanned growth. I will continue to oppose all proposals which would increase housing density and break Poway's population ceiling such as Proposition E and State/County housing initiatives.

By placing residents first. I will continue to respond personally to residents' requests for assistance where the City can help. I spearheaded televising Council meetings and making Poway the first City in the County to have names and photos of registered sex offenders available.

By Continuing to work for a better Poway. As a 39-year resident of south Poway, I have been involved in numerous community activities city-wide and have represented Poway's interests on important State and County Commissions including the County Housing Advisory Committee. Working with the Mayor, I was instrumental in bringing Costco, Home Depot and Kohl's to Poway thereby increasing tax revenues and strengthening the City's financial condition.
