This information is provided by the candidate

Mark vigrously opposes Prop "E" for the following reasons: 1) - unconstitutional taking of property rights; 2) - fiscal impact on the city estimated to be between $30-50 million; 3) - the property's current zoning already protects it as "open space"; 4) - the inaccuracies and ambiguities of the proposition would likely lead to costly lawsuits.

Mark believes in the need for balancing the economic health, social and cultural enrichment, and environmental sensitivity of our community. This has been demonstrated by the city's priorities of exemplary police and fire services, top-notch libraries, wonderful parks and recreation opportunities, development of reclaimed and desalinated water supplies, and outstanding City services, all while keeping the service fees among the lowest in the county.

Carlsbad's leadership continues to maintain a city that is the envy of others. Surveys continue to show a confidence and satisfaction rate of over 90%. That is why Mark is seeking re-election with the intent to "Stay the Course!"
