OCEAN DESALINIZATION PLANT

By Riette Suzzette Ormond

Candidate for Director; South Bay Irrigation District; Division 1

This information is provided by the candidate
There is an urgent need to build an ocean desalinization plant
A desalinization plant is urgently needed. There are several factors involved:
1. It would eliminate importing water.
2. Chula Vista has an ocean full of water which would provide an overabundance of water, ending any periods of drought, conservation, emergency, or curtailing any use of water.
3. The snow cap is melting and causing the ocean level to rise, therefore with a desalinization plant, water from the ocean would be used to serve the homes and would lower the ocean level.
4. Piping is running across 7 different earthquake faults, therefore making it mandatory that the ocean desalinization plant be built for survival.
