The economic and ecological health of the gateway to the Monterey Bay Santuary is of the greatest importance to everyone in the region. Responsible stewardship is our duty, for the present and for generations to follow.

My primary goal as a Commissioner is to see that the Santa Cruz Harbor remains intact and financially viable as the gateway to the Monterey Bay Sanctuary for both recreational and educational purposes.

The Commission must be aggressive in developing sound and realistic financial goals for the District while planning for the future. The district must refrain from expansion projects and focus on maintaining existing infrastructure while rebuilding financial reserves.

Santa Cruz is a enviromentally sensitive community. To that end the Port District needs to be proactive and constantly review their enviromental procedures to insure they are the most effective with the least impact on the enviroment and the surrounding community.
