Commissioner, Santa Cruz Port District

By Bill Geisreiter

Candidate for Commissioner; Santa Cruz County Port District

This information is provided by the candidate
The Santa Cruz Port District is a unique entity. It is both a government body and a day to day business which operates 100% on its user fees. The Port Commission is thus doubly tasked to provide an attractive public asset for all Santa Cruz citizens while operating within sound business principles.

I am proud to say that during my tenure as a port commissioner, a substantial number of public and boater facilities have been added or improved. The Port District's economic base has been expanded and diversified, and the overall business climate at the harbor has a very positive trend. Fees for service have been raised at reasonable, inflation based levels.

It is my vision to continue to improve both the public and business missions of the Port District

The Harbor faces several dredging challenges in the next few years which it must solve. I have a firm commitment to help lead the harbor in resolving the dredging issues.
