Money "for the Children" ... Don't Make Me Laugh

By G. Richard Arnold

Candidate for Board Member; Santa Cruz City High School District; Area 2

How Good People are Tricked into Believing Schools need More Money
The answer Is Not More Money ... But Less

This can be done by Local Control of Curriculum for Public Schools

Parents to protect their children now should check the alternatives ... Private and Home Schooling

Education is at Crisis Level

The U.S. has 75,000,000 students studying for engineering and science and over 50% of those are foreign students. Meawhile, Red China is schooling 2,000,000 in these subjects.

Japan has the most students per classroom, yet their high school graduates are 6 times more likely to graduate from college.

Depending on the source ... we are generally spending $250,000 -$300,000 per classroom.

1) That is too much money to take from the hard working parents and senior citizens. We need to dismiss the education industry that has foisted on us these dismal results. Most mean well and think beleive they are doing good. That is obviously not the case.

2) Ben Chavis former public school principal now runs an alternative school in Oakland. He

a) spends less money per student,

b) pays his teachers more than what public school teachers earn

c) converted his school from being among the worst in Oakland to being the best.

Ben Chaves says "It's not about the money ... They waste money" ... needing more money ... "is the biggest lie in America".

Everyone is free to download this story ... 20 -20's John Stossel's "Stupid in America" video program from the Internet.

We have doubled spending in 30 years, adjusting for inflation, and the schools have just had the largest drop in SAT scores in 31 years. (CNN August29, 2006)

An American student at age 15 ... out of 40 countries American places 25th.

Home schooling by inexperienced parents do better run than those in public education without the gangs and drugs. After all it was Abe Lincoln who practiced with charcoal on the back of a shovel using the light of a wood buring fire.

I encourage parents to check out private schools and homeschooling alternatives.

In the mean time, the federal government, Agenda 21, and UNESCO curriculums should be thrown in the trash. (UNESCO and International Decade of Education for Sustainable Development)(VOL. XXVIII No. 1-2 2003)

This curriculum was adopted by the dictators, monarchs and money men at the UN General Assembly contrary to American values. Our school boards are not giving the parents the lowdown.

These Agenda 21 programs are being phased in not only by the schools but in other areas of government replacing "local control" for "imposed law" to serve the International Community.

This is being done to convert local independent government into a cog for a New World Order.

It was just last month that the Feds admitted that the math venue needed to be geared back toward basics after forcing it on local schol boards for 17 years. (NY times Tamar Lewin September 13, 2006).

If you want to see a serious curriculum ... Google the Taiwan grade and junior high school courses.

We do injury to the minds and independence of our children if we don't change course now.
