Safety

Make sure that our Police and Fire Departments hire and retain the best personnel Provide these departments the best equipment to Protect and Serve Provide incentives to Police & Fire personnel to reside in Mountain View

Fiscal Responsibility

Streamline, simplify and innovate City business practices Critically analyze publicly funded projects Pass fiscally sound budgets

Economic Development

Empower an Economic Development Department Aggressively pursue and provide incentives for businesses to move to Mountain View Work with landlords to update their commercial properties Make Mountain View more business friendly Improve Intra City transportation systems

Water Resources

Find alternate sources to offset the expected higher costs of Hetch Hetchy water Feasibility study of a desalination plant Work with school district to install more reservoirs

Strong & Safe Neighborhoods

Encourage neighborhoods to create associations & hold regular meetings Encourage neighborhood watch groups Encourage Community Emergency Response Teams Certifications (CERT)

Housing

Encourage developers to have affordable housing in their plans Provide incentives for developers to create affordable housing Encourage developers to create parks and park-like settings

Youth

Acquire funding to build a teen center Work actively with local organizations to provide activities & support to youth Encourage businesses to build playing fields on city owned land Work with School districts to educate youth on diversity Work with businesses to create your internships

Environment

Advocate clean fuel for city vehicles Install alternative energy mechanisms in city buildings Work with businesses to provide clean fuel transportation within Mountain View Work with Foundations & Trusts to acquire urban lots for open space.

What will Mountain View be in 14 years time?

Create a comprehensive plan to replace current General Plan Invite residents & experts from all walks of life to create Vision 2020 Address all issues of growth, quality of life, housing, economy, transportation, environment, infrastructure, and more Create a Vision 2020 Commission to facilitate forums & Input, & formulate Vision 2020
