I have lived in San Jose all of my life. I graduated in the first graduating class of Rogers Middle School and went on to graduate from Blackford High School in 1967.

I finished one year at San Jose State where I majored in Math with a secondary in Elementary Education. Due to a family tragedy, I was not able to complete my goal of becoming a teacher.

In 1991, I graduated from West Valley College with an Associate of Arts Degree in Child Study. This degree enabled me to own and direct Kaleidoscope Preschool in Los Gatos for six years.

My youngest son graduated from Branham High School in 2003. My decision to become an involved parent at Branham lead to my decision to become further involved and thus my bid for one of the Board Member positions in the Campbell Union High School District in November 2002.

I was the Vice-president of the Branham Home & School Club from 1999-2000 and the President from 2000-2002. During that time I worked very hard to create parent committees that would help support the students and staff at Branham. I'm very proud to say that the parents at Branham were and continue to be extremely involved and supportive.

Since being elected in 2002, we have seen some very positive advances in our District. We had the first 3 year contract with our teachers in the history of our district and relations have improved greatly.

We have experienced success in our efforts to address the needs of all students in our district as evidenced by our recent API/AYP scores.

We weathered a couple of very tight years as a result of the State budget crisis and with the help of our dedicated parents, were able to keep our successful programs in tack.

I have worked very hard during the past four years to attend many of the school functions, including staff meetings, plays, music performances, parent meetings, and athletic events. Communication is very important to me and making it a point to stay in touch with everyone involved in our district is what I believe makes me a good board member.

I have very much enjoyed the last four years I have served as a Board Member for the Campbell Union High School District (yes, even the trying times!!!) and would very much like to serve another four years.
