Candidate for
Board Member; Oak Grove School District; 4 Year Term

In addition to my B.A. degree in Journalism, I have taken undergraduate and graduate courses in Education.

I have been involved with Oak Grove School District for many years in various capacities, having served on the board for 17 years.

My two children and daughter-in-law graduated from the district. Now my granddaughter is in first grade and my grandson will be entering kindergarten next fall, again OGSD schools. I obviously believe in our district and believe it is always raising the bar for student achievement.

Positions I have held and activities I have done in support of the students include:

• President, OGSD District Advisory Committee
• Member, OGSD Committees including Desegregation, GATE, Boundaries, Family Life Education
• President, Home and School Club
• President, School Site Council
• Member Human Rights Commission
