Community Activities

  • Board member and member of the Audit Committee, EHC Lifebuilders (previously known as the Emergency Housing Consortium). Non-profit agency addressing the needs of families, children, and single adults with no or low incomes, who need temporary shelter, transitional housing, permanent homes, and supportive services.

  • Commissioner, Cupertino. Technology, Information, and Communications Commission.

  • Past president of the Board and former Treasurer, Social Advocates for Youth. Non-profit agency providing at-risk youth with temporary shelter and programs addressing transition from foster care to independence, truancy, academic mentoring, and family counseling.

  • President of congregational Board, Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship of Sunnyvale.

  • Member, Cupertino's General Plan Task Force.

Employment

  • Writer; ten years experience developing technical curriculum and documentation for accounting software applications. Currently with a small start-up; previously at Oracle.

  • Financial Analyst; fifteen years experience at 3Com and Control Data. Worked with Engineering, Marketing, and Sales organizations.

Family

  • My wife teaches developmentally disabled adults for the Mountain View-Los Altos High School District. Previously taught in a Hope Rehabilitation Services program.

  • My son attends De Anza College and attended Cupertino schools since pre-school.

  • Mother was a school nurse. Father was a civilian employee of US Army.
