Candidate for
Board Member; Santa Barbara High School District

Suzy Cawthon has a professional background in commercial lending and finance and has a Masters in Business Administration from Baylor University. She has served as a school board member in Billings, Montana where she distinguished herself as a mediator and negotiator between administrators, staff and teachers. She has extensive experience in fundraising for non-profit organizations as a volunteer and development director. She has been President of several PTA and PTSA organizations and most recently spearheaded the effort to upgrade the gymnasium floor at San Marcos High School. Her efforts garnered a Golden Oak PTSA Service award last June.

Suzy and Alan Cawthon have three children who are a senior, a junior and an 8th grader in the district. Her campaign has received the endorsement of three sitting Santa Barbara School Board Members in Lynn Rodriguez, Nancy Harter and Laura Malakoff; as well as Montecito Union School Board Member Karen Anderson, Hope District School Board member Jon Spaventaand, and Cold Spring School Board Member Laura Wyatt. The Santa Barbara Teachers Association and the Santa Barbara Womens Political Committee have also chosen to endorse her campaign.
