As is the case with any other community, Guadalupe is not alone in it struggle with the growing pains of managing itself. The real challenge is in finding that cohesiveness that bridges the gaps between the citizens of Guadalupe, Guadalupe City staff and the elected officials charged with the overall responsibility of making the right decisions. As a city council member, it will be my duty to evaluate the issues that face the city and make decisions on what the best course of action should be in moving forward. It will be my responsibility to hear the analysis and recommendations of city staff members, and to either vote for or against the initiatives if all of the data is clear and concise, or send the initiative back for further review. It will be my sworn duty to put all personal biases aside and do what is best for the people of Guadalupe, even if it goes against what I personally believe in. My goal, our goal as a City Council, is to make our decisions affecting the future of Guadalupe be forward thinking, and allow Guadalupe to grow responsibly and be seen in a positive light. |
