Accomplishments as a School Board Member

In eighteen months on the board I am proud of my accomplishments
As a school board member I am proud of my accomplishments this term. I know that no individual board member can take credit for the board actions without working with the other six members. It is important to elect the best candidates on the ballot to serve on the Sacramento City Unified School District Board. The accomplishments I am The things I am most proud of this term are:

Staying in close touch with the students, staff, parents and community members to learn their needs by making over 100 visits to schools, attending over 70 school community events and answering over 500 emails and phone calls during my eighteen month on the school board

Helping the school board make better decisions for students by bringing my fifty years of educational experience, practice and research to our discussions

Protecting students and staff from harassment by standing up for their civil rights

Holding the administration to fiscal accountability by demanding a fiscal audit by the Fiscal Crisis Management Assessment Team, an outside agency
