Candidate for
Board Member; Folsom Cordova Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate

I was hired by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in 1993. I now work for the Correctional Training Center, in Galt, as an Instructor. To see the learning process from design to implementation, to a hard working, dedicated employee is an amazing process.

I was honored to be elected to the Board of Education in 1996 and Re-Elected in 2000. I am again asking for your support in being elected for a 3rd Term. This district has grown a lot during the past ten years. We have built and are building new schools, we have modernized older schools, we have given students more educational opportunities and we have given every school the technology means to help our kids learn to perform for the future. Our test scores are up at every level in every school. Our attendance is up, moral is up and students want to learn. The teachers and support staff are doing marvelous work. I have seen first hand how people, ordinary people, who put themselves through college and chose a career to help others, do extraordinary things. You sit in a classroom and see the excitement of the teachers giving life enhancing information to their students and the students, in turn, learn how to become better people and valuable citizens. In my elected position, I got to visit campuses that cover every grade level of education. Whether it's ABC day or the final day of building an electric car from scratch, every moment is exciting. As our staffs teach and our students learn, I get to see the young students turn into mature students, then turn into our community leaders. I could not ask for a finer job.

I have seen motivated students, with the help of a highly qualified staff, become better educated each year. I want to continue to do my part in giving these students the tools and resources they need for a brighter future.
