MORENO VALLEY RESIDENTS VALUE QUALITY OF LIFE

Quality of life for all residents of Moreno Valley is a primary goal for me as a City Councilman. Code enforcement to improve our neighborhoods; police suppression of crime for safer streets and neighborhoods; superior fire and emergency medical response and care to save lives, these are all the main obligations of city government.

Recreation and providing adequate sports fields is also an important part of quality of life. We need to add more sports fields to keep up with growth. Residents shouldn't have to wait or be denied a playing field due to overcrowding.

Better retail stores need to be attracted to Moreno Valley so our residents don't have to go to other cities to shop. We are finally getting better restaurants here, but even more are planning to build here next year and beyond; we must keep the effort to attract new businesses here going!

We opened a state-of-the-art Recreation and Conference center, we need to look to adding another to serve residents in other parts of our city.

A new LIBRARY is and must continue to be a prime goal of our city council. We need an entire library SYSTEM with branches in each council district to serve our residents and make it convenient for our children to use a library without travelling across the entire city.

Cleaning up troubled neighborhoods continues to be a top priority. Code enforcement must be proactive to eliminate blight; get rid of illegal trash dumping; get rid of abandoned cars; and our excellent anti-graffiti program must be maintained so graffiti is removed within 24 hours of it being reported.

Reducing traffic congestion must also be a top priority of the city council. Widen more streets as needed; add more traffic signals where needed; use SPEED HUMPS where needed to reduce speeding through our neighborhoods. This, plus good and fair traffic enforcement will improve traffic flow and reduce congestion n our city. We must continue to work with the regional traffic organizations (CALTRANS, RCTC, RTA, etc.) to guarantee moreno Valley gets its fair share of available money and traffic-reducing projects.

Lastly, we deserve to be free from CRIME. More police on the streets will shorten response times and greatly reduce the crime rate.

We all deserve nothing less!
