Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Brenda Dennstedt

Candidate for
Director; Western Municipal Water District; Division 3

This information is provided by the candidate

I moved to Murrieta in 2001 and I am a mother to three children. I became involved with the water district shortly after we moved into our new home discovering we had high copper levels in the water in a majority of the homes in my community. Water quality and saftey became my top priority.

I was elected and served on the Board of Directors for the Murrieta County Water District (MCWD) until we successfully merged with the Western Municipal Water District (WMWD) less than a year ago.

During my term I served on the Engineering and Operations Committee as the Vice Chairperson, the Finance Committee as Vice Chairperson, and I also served as the Murrieta County Water District representative on the General Plan Advisory Committee for the City of Murrieta. I have throughly enjoyed my involvement on all these committees.

Since that time I have continued my involvement serving on the Western Municipal Water District, Murrieta Division, Public Advisory Committee as Co-Vice Chairperson, tasked with the transition of the two water Districts.

I remain committed to maintaining water quality at the most affordable and enviromental safe ways as possible.

I have discovered supporting and encouraging public involvement has proven a win / win situation. I want to continue to be the voice of the residents. Southern California will have many challenges to face in the future with increasing demands on our water supplies. Planning for our future will be paramount importance to all of us. Whether you are a resident home owner, business owner, farmer, or a child in school you will need water to maintain quality of life. We as a society simply can not go without water.

My goals continue to be;

  • To gain continued insight from water experts, professionals, district staff, to correctly identify solutions to existing concerns and meet future needs.

  • To support increased public participation.

  • To reexamine existing water demand management, system conditions, and infastructure.

  • To prioritize an action plan to maintain those services and needs without compromise to water quality.

  • To continue to maintain a balanced budget and be fiscally responsible for all the rate payers.

  • To support conservation.

Together with your vote we can continue to meet all of our water needs today and tomorrow.

Thank you for your continued support.

Brenda Dennstedt
