It has meant a great deal to me to receive the support and confidence of so many Yorba Linda residents during my first term as a member of the Yorba Linda City Countil. After encouragement from many civic leaders, my council colleagues, friends and neighbors, and with the wonderful and complete support of my family, I have decided to seek re-election this November.
My family and I have lived in Yorba Linda for 16 years and I want nothing but the best for our community. I have provided positive direction for our City through a leadership style that is ethical, thoughtful and considerate. I am passionate about working hard to maintain our City's strongest assets as well as working equally hard to improve things that need attention. For these and many other reasons, I believe it is imperative that I continue to serve as your Councilwoman for another term.

I have been in public service for over 26 years and community involvement is not new to me. I began my professional life in 1980 as a Police Officer in the City La Habra working patrol, investigation, traffic, and administrative services. In 1991, I was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

In 2001, I had the opportunity to join the Orange County District Attorney's Office as a Sexual Assault Investigator. I have since retired from police and public safety work and have started my own business as a Real Estate Appraiser. In addition to my duties on the City Council, I proudly serve as Chairperson of the Orange County Fire Authority Board of Directors, and as a Board Member of the Placentia-Yorba Linda Boys and Girls Club.  I am proud to say that my re-election has prompted strong community support, as well as endorsements from a wide variety of elected officials both locally and at the state level. I am especially grateful for the endorsements from my City Council colleagues, the support of the Brea Police Officers Association and the Brea Police Department Management Association.

I am especially pleased to be endorsed by every member of the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District Board of Education.

My husband, David, and I have lived in Yorba Linda for 16 years. Our three children, Kindra, Zachary, and Kristin are enrolled in the local public schools and are active in youth sports and music programs. We regularly attend Yorba Linda Friends Church and I coached JUSA soccer for nine years. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration.

My service to the citizens of Yorba Linda is a natural extension of my personal and professional life and reflects my commitment to this community and its citizens. I'm proud to have been a part of Yorba Linda's long standing tradition of excellence. I recognize that the majority of Yorba Linda residents want the city to continue to move forward with a respect for the past and with an eye on the future, particularly regarding the Town Center project. Those two are difficult ideals to balance, but both must be achieved if the needs of all the citizens are to be met.   I will continue to support public safety, continue working to maintain a community atmosphere where families can grow, learn, and play in a safe and enriching environment, and where citizens and businesses can truly enjoy "gracious living."  I hope that I have earned your vote and support for re-election in November.
