Common Sense At City Hall We need a leader with common sense and business values on our city council. As a businessman who has succeeded where other businesses have not in downtown Huntington Beach, I know what it takes to beat the odds. Councilmembers and city staff should be removing obstacles to success, not creating them.

A Clean and Green City We need to do better long term planning that will give us a clean, healthy vibrant city - a city with great beaches, great parks, sewers that don't leak and streets without potholes. We should preserve our open space and park land and make sure all development is community appropriate.

Streamline Bureaucracy Our city's permit process should be streamlined. Individuals, contractors and businesses should be able to apply for permits and check their status online through the city's website. Home remodeling projects should be approved in a timely and efficient manner. City departments should be run like a business with measurable results.

Give Neighborhoods More Power Let's set up a neighborhood council system in order to let our neighborhoods decide for themselves what's best for their area. Government should increase democracy on a neighborhood level.

Solve Our Parking Problems We should help residents set up permit parking systems for our city's neighborhoods where they are needed in order to make them cleaner and safer, while finding alternative parking and transportation solutions for our visitors and residents.

Joe Will Be Your Voice At City Hall If you believe you can take control of your destiny and have a voice as to how your neighborhood looks and how your city operates, then I am your candidate. I am running for City Council because I believe the city should treat residents like customers, not nuisances. Please contact me with your concerns so we can discuss what's needed to make Huntington Beach a place our children and future generations can thrive. As the owner of two downtown businesses, I'll be a truly accessible city councilman. Isn't it time we had a City Council member that embraces good customer service?
