Candidate's Statement

By Douglas M. "Doug" Schneider

Candidate for Board Member; Fullerton School District

This information is provided by the candidate
Summary of why I'm asking for your support and your vote on November 7th.
As a Board member, my priority will be to support educational excellence for all students through the enactment and enforcement of policy that focuses on accountability and achievement in a fiscally responsible manner. I will use a systematic, analytical approach to fully understand the issues and build consensus toward solutions that foster productive learning and increased efficiency. The cornerstone of my approach will be to instill an atmosphere of open communication for everyone involved.

My wife, Colleen, and I are 17 year residents of Fullerton and have two children in Fullerton District schools. I earned my MBA from CSUF. I've been a soccer coach and commissioner. I believe that a strong public school system offers us all a safer community and a better society.

At Board meetings for the past three years, I encouraged the Board to develop and adopt policies providing a fair and equitable learning environment for all students, while promoting fiscal responsibility. I served on both the Budget and Transportation Advisory Committees where I used my professional engineering experience in budgeting, regulatory compliance, and consensus building.

I ask for your vote. Once elected, I will work to ensure the District implements quality educational programs for all students. I have the education, experience and professionalism to successfully contribute as a Board Member.
