Candidate for
Board Member; Anaheim Union High School District

Anna Piercy is a Southern California native. She is a product of the public school system and a graduate of the University of California at Long Beach. Not only has she taught in the Anaheim Union High School District for 37 years, but she also served the city of Cypress as Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem, and Councilwoman over an eight year, two-term period.

Some of her major accomplishments while serving on the Cypress city council that benefited the children of the community are:

• finalizing a " Mutual Use Agreement of Facilities " between the AUHSD and the city
• helping to secure recreational venues for students in the community including a skate park, roller hockey rink and tennis courts.

• Board of Directors of Orange County Sanitation District
• Orange County Library Board
• Orange County Fire Authority

Along with a strenuous academic curriculum, Anna supports all the academic and vocational arts. She feels it is vital for students to explore the many facets of these areas during their educational career to balance their experiences and sharpen their skills for today ' s work force. Anna is a proud past member of the school district family, and wants to continue working for students, parents and employees of the AUHSD by serving on the Board of Trustees in order to:

• guarantee Board of Trustee operation is open and clear to all constituents.
• help the district complete Measure Z construction goals.
• strengthen the working relationships with our feeder elementary districts, and our five city governments within the AUHSD boundaries.
