Candidate Statement

By Wendy Brooks Leece

Candidate for Council Member; City of Costa Mesa

This information is provided by the candidate
Wendy Brooks Leece
I love our great city. I have lived and raised five children for the past 34 years in Costa Mesa. I served two terms as a trustee on the School Board. I am currently Chair of your Parks and Recreation Commission.

With increased murders this year, I am very concerned about rising crime and will fight to add more police. The public's safety, traffic congestion, street repair, youth sports fields and good schools are important to me. Less traffic must be a priority when we negotiate future developments. I oppose Eminent Domain. I will vote against tax increases.

I am concerned three illegal alien sex offenders were recently found in Costa Mesa and that not all illegal aliens are deported after serving their jail time. I support Mayor Mansoor's proposal to deport major felons and am the only candidate endorsed by the Mayor. Congressman Dana Rohrabacher and former Mayor Jack Hammett USN (Ret.) have also endorsed me.

I will:

Reduce crime by increasing our police force.

Improve traffic flow by synchronizing lights and improving intersections.

Add city-owned sports fields away from residents.

Support our Seniors by increasing affordable housing.

Together we can fight for a safe and prosperous community. http://www.wendyleece.com.
