The single most important job the newly elected city council members will immediately face is the selection of our new city manager. My work background and participation in city government makes me the most qualified candidate to help select the best qualified person to manage Cypress on a day to day basis.

As a district manager for a national company, I've been involved in personnel decisions along with managing people and budgets.

As the former chair of the Recreation and Community Services Commission, I have seen first hand the intricacies of how our city operates including the annual preparation of the city budget.

My business and marketing background will serve me well we work to provide opportunies for the growth of new business in Cypress.

My service on the Cypress Festival Committee, Cypress High Grad Night, Athletic Boosters, Girls Softball President, and AYSO Coach has given me a keen awareness of what is important to the citizens of Cypress.

As a former Long Beach Police officer, I also understand firsthand that public safety is a top priority. I pledge to keep Cypress' Police department one of the best. I have earned the endorsement and the confidence of the Cypress Police Officers Association and the O.C. Professional Firefighters Association.

I'm also proud to have earned the endorsement of each of the current Cypress council members, other current elected officials, many former Cypress Mayors and other community leaders.

My major fiscal goals include:

Assure a balanced annual city budget;

Make sure Cypress City Hall is run like a business -- not a bureaucracy;

Promote a business friendly atmosphere to attract the "best" businesses to Cypress;

Build on the team concept to work with staff to develop and implement aggressive economic development programs;

Actively pursue quality businesses to assure a solid future revenue stream and create jobs;

Implement the recently adopted city marketing plan to promote the "image' of Cypress as a high quality place to live or locate a business.

Please vote for ROB JOHNSON on November 7th. I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and work hard to assure that Cypress continues to thrive.
