Teachers Interact Daily with Students - OUSD Must Treat Teachers Well

By Christopher K. "Chris" Emami

Candidate for Trustee; Orange Unified School District; Trustee Area 5

This information is provided by the candidate
We must make sure the students come first, but we must also remember the people who interact with them on a daily basis.
Teachers must be respected because good teachers can instill students with the skills necessary to succeed in life. I still remember the teachers I had in school that had a positive influence on my life, and I still take to heart what they taught me.

In order to keep the most qualified teachers in OUSD schools, we must give them the tools they need to do their jobs. OUSD must find a way to stop increasing class sizes. With fewer students in the classroom, it will enable teachers to interact with each individual student more frequently. Every classroom should have internet access. Having one computer lab is not enough for every class to use it at the same time. Schools must have up-to-date textbooks.

If we can provide the teachers with the tools that they need and ensure that we have qualified teachers in every classroom, then OUSD schools will improve. If OUSD schools improve, property values will increase, and OUSD graduates will be better prepared for the college and the workforce.
