The future is unpredictable

By Jeff Elghanayan

Candidate for Board Member; Laguna Beach Unified School District

So we need to have a contingency plan.
We can predict that facilities will wear down and will require care. This is best done before wholesale replacement is needed. I want to make certain we maintain these assets so we can benefit from them in the years to come without resorting to a repeat of the bond measure. We have built a very resource rich district that we can all be proud of. It is attractive to teachers and students alike.

The Schools are the cornerstone of our community; Take good care of them! This district has attracted great teachers, built state of the art campuses that have brought families to our community. Quality education is our best security to continue attracting the best teachers and students. The growth of real property taxes has enabled much of the development in the district. Property taxes fluctuate over time and so it is important to maintain a buffer that can assure teachers and families, now and in the future, that the district can sustain it's level of operations for years to come.
