Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Doug Chaffee

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Fullerton

This information is provided by the candidate

Doug Chaffee will listen to our Neighborhoods, not out-of-town developers who want to build massive structures next to our homes and create more traffic on our streets.

Doug will:

  • Support a law that gives residents the right to vote on projects that will affect their neighborhood.
  • Go into neighborhoods to talk to residents and hear their concerns.
  • Hold town hall meetings in neighborhoods to make it convenient for residents to voice concerns.
  • Invite residents to speak at city council meetings and treat them respectfully.
  • Return phone calls and emails in a timely manner.

Doug Chaffee will promote responsible growth that balances carefully planned developments with the needs of our neighborhoods. He is especially concerned about preserving parks and green space for our families to enjoy, and making sure that our schools do not become over-crowded.

  • Doug will analyze the impact of new development on our schools, infrastructure and public safety.
  • Responsible growth is NOT building new homes without making room for more children in our schools.
  • Responsible growth is NOT building high-density projects that create more gridlock, potholes, and pollution on our streets.
  • Responsible growth is NOT pouring concrete over every last bit of park and green space in Fullerton.

Doug Chaffee will work to solve the Traffic, Parking, and Pothole Crisis that is turning our charming city into an urban obstacle course.
