Action Idea Results!!
Long before my tenure as Councilman, and officially since being elected to Pomona's city council in 2002, I've been working hard in Pomona to better the quality of life and to address the many pressing challenges and issues. Solutions promoting partnerships that further parity and equity have been my mantra and charge in my efforts to meet the needs of the families and businesses in District Three.

These efforts include working with parents and youth in the long-neglected Angela-Chanslor neighborhood to open and manage the new Renacimiento Community Center and establish an unprecedented partnership with businesses, Pomona Police Department, Pomona Unified School District Los Angeles County Fire Department, Cal Poly University, Pomona Boys and Girls Club, Gangs to Grace International Ministries and Victory Outreach Pomona and ONE LA to successfully address South Pomona youth violence and social blight has been outstanding.

Elementary to my work in South Pomona is addressing what is killing our families and community, namely the influence of gangs. The longstanding culture of gangs and their influence in Pomona has killed not only children and our youth, but the dreams of social and economic development. My longstanding commitment to empower, engage and create coalition with parents and community partners remains the order of the day.

Therefore, my continued resolve to represent South Pomona is more than an office or title, but is a lifestyle of promoting help, healing and bringing hope to our city on behalf the citizens, residents, businesses and community partners that I serve.
