Candidate for Member, Rent Control Board; City of Santa MonicaI have been a resident of Santa Monica for the past 37 years. First as a renter and now as a home owner. For the past two years I have been involved with renters issues through an organization called L.A. Voice. I currently serve as a member of that organization's board. I am concerned to see long time residents having to leave their apartments as a result of the impact of recent State laws on Santa Monica's rent control law. Santa Monica is a great place to live. I would like to promote good relationships between tenants and landlords. I am committed to the continued fair enforcement of rent control in Santa Monica. I believe I will be an asset to the Rent Control Board because I strongly believe in social justice and diversity in Santa Monica. |
