Board of Directors; Beach Cities Health Care District

My name is Noel Chun, M.D. I have lived in Manhattan Beach for fourteen years with my wife and three children. I am an Associate Clinical Professor at the UCLA School of Medicine.

The mission of the Beach Cities Health District (BCHD) is: "to maintain the good physical and mental health of the community." To fulfill this mission, it is essential at least one director has medical training and experience.

As an educator, father and medical doctor, I know the challenges in providing accessible, affordable healthcare. I understand healthcare issues from multiple perspectives. As a small business owner, I know the importance of providing benefits for employees and their families.

The BCHD can greatly improve the quality of life in our community. As Ben Franklin said, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." Our community can demonstrate the value of Preventative Healthcare.

To win the trust and support of the citizens, the BCHD needs reform and better oversight. I advocate greater transparency and accountability of the BCHD.

I will work tirelessly for the citizens of the Beach Cities to find effective ways to protect and improve the health and well being of all our people.
