My civic services in Ridgecrest began over thirty years ago:

  • As a volunteer Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach at Burroughs High School.
  • A baseball and basketball coach for China Lake & IWV youth sports.
  • As head basketball coach for Murray Jr. High School.
  • A religious education teacher, (8th grade and Senior High School levels).
  • A Knight of Columbus third degree.
  • Board of Directors of the IWV Association for Retarded Citizens(ARC) currently DART
  • Founding member of IWV Youth Baseball Board of Directors and President of Leagues T-Ball through Pony.
  • A Sierra Sands Unified School District Board of Education, Trustee, and VP & President.
  • Served five years as a member of the Ridgecrest Contractors Appeals Board.
  • Current Committees: Ridgecrest Redevelopment Agency, Infrastructure, RACVB, Legislative Committee, Kern County Association of Cities (KCAC)
  • League of Calif. Cities Committees: Legislative Chair Desert Mountain Division, Environmental Quality, Revenue & Taxation
  • 1st Ridgecrest Council member as Kern County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) Commissioner
  • Almost five years on your city council, currently as Mayor Pro Tem.

Most important, I have been married to my wife June (former 6-7-8th grade middle school educator) for over 30 years. We have two sons Richard and Thomas.
