I am a native of Detroit, Michigan. I am a verteran of the United States Navy, honorably discharged in 1985. I retired from Sacramento Municipal Utility District in 2002 after 15 years of service. I worked as a Hazardous Waste Technician for my last 10 years with SMUD.

I earned my state certification as a Hazardous Materials Specialist and state certification as an Instructor for Hazardous Material First Responders. I was an AHERA accredited Asbestos Supervisor, Building Inspector and Management Planner as well as Dept. of Health Services certified Lead-Based Paint Supervisor and Building Inspector. I maintained these certifications for 11 years. I have an Associates Degree in General Education with my major area of study being Hazardous Materials Technology. I worked side by side with Industrial Hygienists in monitoring working and environmental conditions and to ensure employee safety. I worked along side company engineers in reviewing and awarding million dollar asbestos and lead abatement contract bids.

Along with my partner, I owned and operated a successful business, The Bean Queens Espresso Bar, in North Sacramento, for 7 years. We were active members of the North Sacramento Chamber of Commerce and I served for a short time on the Planning Area Committee.

I moved to Rio Dell in 2003 and have regularly attended our city council meetings.
