CANDIDATE STATEMENT

I pledge to continue my involvement in our community with great energy and enthusiasm, bringing a fresh perspective to problem solving.

As a Danville resident for 18 years, I am very engaged as a volunteer, Danville Planning Commissioner, businessperson and other leadership roles. I was honored as 2005 Businessperson of the Year by the Danville Chamber of Commerce. My leadership roles demonstrate a solid foundation for long range conservative fiscal and community planning. Each decision I make includes careful consideration of all the issues while being sensitive to neighborhood and community concerns.

Married to my wife Sandra for 22 years and raising our two sons, Michael and Andrew, students at San Ramon Valley High School. I am very much aware of the many problems facing teenagers today. Danville has some terrific sports and youth activities, but we can do more, particularly with teens.

I will work for implementing safer traffic solutions, children's safety, open space preservation, downtown historic preservation and protect the rural atmosphere that makes Danville a special place to raise our families.

PARENT WITH SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN

I am the only candidate with children in the SRV Unified School District. Our two sons attend SRV High Scool.

I want to make sure our teenage children feel wlecome in Danville and have a safe place to explore their youth. Danville has done a lot to help youth, but has not helped create the safe environment for our teenagers. I will work with our two local high schools and students to ask them what "they" feel would help improve the Danville community in welcoming teens.

We have an opportunity to dedicate a high school teen center for their use. We need to take this extra step and embrace our teenagers in making them an integral part of our community.
