This information is provided by the candidate

City Clerk is more than just a title. The City Clerk needs to be involved in the day to day operations of the city; the only way to do that it to be there every day. A part time person cannot serve the citizens of the community effectively.

If elected, I will be a full-time, dedicated and conscientious City Clerk.

The City Clerk is not a policy maker. Rather, the City Clerk must ensure that policy is carried out. This includes maintaining the City's vital records, including resolutions and ordinances, the agenda management system, recording and storing the minutes of City Council and other agency meetings, adherence to the City's records management program, including the comprehensive records retention program. The City Clerk must also be knowledgeable about and conform to the following: the Political Reform Act which governs campaign statement and conflict of interest filings; compliance with the State Public Records Act; adhering to the Maddy Act and the Ralph M. Brown Act which pertain to issues surrounding open and accessible government processes. The City Clerk, serving as the City's Election Officer, also must administer the State's Elections Code. This mandates keeping up with all legislation that affects Municipal government.
