  • Co-President, Berkeley High PTSA (Parent,Teacher,Student Association)- 2005-2006.
  • Member, Berkeley High Principal's Advisory Committee (2004-2006)
  • Representative, Berkeley Unified School District Advisory Committee (DAC) (2003/04).
  • President, School Site Council, Washington Elementary School (1998-2004).
  • Member, School Governance Council and Extended Day Program Committee, Longfellow Middle School (2002-2004).
  • Berkeley Schools Excellence Program (BSEP). Planning & Oversight Committee (1996-1998).
  • Founding Member, African American Unity Council, Washington Elementary School.
  • Have served on the following City of Berkeley Advisory Committees: Commission on the Status of Women; Committee for Socially Responsible Investment; Civic Arts Commission
  • Currently Assistant to the Emeryville City Manager and am also the Emeryville City Clerk
  • Fomer Environmental Programs Manager (solid waste reduction, alternative transportation, Clean Water, "green" building, and environmental education)
  • From a family of teachers: preschool through university.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Asian Studies, Brown University *Graduate Degree in Political Science/Public Administration, U.C. Berkeley
  • Have taught at U.C. Berkeley and come from a family of teachers, pre-kindergarten to graduate school
  • Have been responsible for bringing in millions of dollars in public agency, non-profit, and business community resources as part of my work responsibilities
  • Have successfully written teacher training, literacy, and garden grants for Berkeley public schools
  • Have estabished relationships with our City, regional, state, and federal elected representatives that will greatly aid my ability to identify and bring in outside resources to our schools
  • Have successfully led multi-racial/cultural community problem-solving efforts leading to workable and financially sustainable solutions
