Candidate for
Member, Board of Directors; Eden Township Health Care District

This information is provided by the candidate

As a Board member for the past 16 years and a former hospital administrative assistant, I am committed to ensuring that Eden Medical Center maintains its outstanding reputation for patient care and community service.

During my tenure, Eden has: (a) received excellent accreditations for patient care; (b) invested in new healthcare services and state-of-the-art equipment; (c) established a Regional Neuroscience Center; and (d) awarded nearly $6 million in grants to community-based organizations, heathcare providers and scholarships for training future nurses.
If re-elected, I pledge to (1) ensure that patient satisfaction continues to be Eden's top priority; (2) continue to monitor expenditures and eliminate waste; (3) recruit and retain the best-qualified physicians, nurses, technical and support staff; (4) expand the community grant program to meet the healthcare needs of residents in Castro Valley, Hayward, San Leandro and San Lorenzo.
One of many areas of Board service that I take pride in, is our Community Grant program. Our District Board has granted more than $5 million dollars to worthy community-based organizations and health agencies to povided need healthcare service to those not servered or underserved. We have given grans to Davis Street Community Cente, Girls' Inc, FESCO, HARD, Castro Valley High School, Hayward Youth and Family Services, Mercy Care Center, The Kid's Breakfast Club, La Clinica de la Raza, SOS Meals on Wheels, Boys and Girls Club of San Leandro, Spectrum and many more. I am working to expand this program.
