Smart Voter Political Philosophy for David Baggins

Candidate for
School Director; City of Berkeley

This information is provided by the candidate

Nearly a hundred years ago the city of Berkeley set out to become the "Athens of the West".

It is time to renew the vision of a special city uniquely endowed with intellect, artistry, nature and spirit.

City government, including the schools, has sometimes been less than uplifting. I wish to work for the day when government, particularly the public schools, strive to make Berkeley into a model community.

I would like to achieve schools so good that practically every parent chooses to send their children to them. I want the schools to become focal to the community and a place that creates smart kids and socially engaged neighborhoods.
