Steve Thomas was born in Toledo Ohio and has lived in the Bay Area since he was nine years old. He attended College of Marin before going to work in his father's new electrical contracting business. Steve entered a career in the stock market the day after the 1987 crash and worked his way up to writing institutional research at a small firm. Steve wanted to return to his roots and returned to the electrical business in 1997.

Steve has been an anti-war activist since the Viet Nam war. He is an avid bicyclist, hiker, camper, motorcyclist and environmentalist.

He believes that supporting our troops means not poisoning them by exposing them to the depleted uranium ammunition that we are using, and in fully funding their equipment needs now and their healthcare when they return from service. He wants to bring them home, alive and un-maimed from Iraq so we can concentrate on Al Qaeda! His younger brother Alex is a Captain in the Marine Corps. He is an F18 pilot training his squadron, which is scheduled to deploy to Iraq next year.

Steve is inspired to run because the culture of greed, power and corruption in Republican held Washington is undermining the middle class and bankrupting our grandchildren.

He is currently a Union electrician, living in Danville, while his wife attends Boston University Law School.

Steve is a true progressive democrat, he is 100% pro choice, believes in strong environmental protections, and is a strong supporter of Social Security and Medicare, labor, working families, human rights and marriage equality. Visit his website at: http://SteveThomasForCongress.com
