Illegal Immigration

By Susan Slater

Candidate for Member of the State Assembly; District 59; Republican Party

Secure our border and hold businesses responsible
I want to secure our border by getting the California Border Patrol on the ballot for people to vote on.

Illegal Aliens are crossing our borders in search of employment and employers are providing that incentive by giving illegals jobs. I want to implement a random auditing procedure whereby businesses will be audited as to the the legal or illegal status of their employees. If the employer is guilty of hiring illegal aliens, the laws we already have on the books, fines and incarceration for up to six months will be enforced. Additionally, for those employers that are repeat offenders, their license will be revoked and their business shut down. If employers thought they would pay fines, sit in jail and lose their business for hiring people that are illegal it wouldn't be worth it to hire illegal aliens anymore. If people outside of our country thought they wouldn't get a job after walking across the desert or paying the coyotes, it wouldn't be worth it to come here illegally anymore. When these tactics are implemented we will be well on our way to solving the illegal immigration problem.
