|
Emmanuel, in the USA. Emmanuel Immigrated to the United State in 1984 with a bag of cloths and all that he has, and one hundred dollars in his pocket. Lived briefly with his brother and soon found a job working at a gas station through a friend. He immediately sought the path of education, remembering the words of his father, and attended Laney College in Oakland, graduating in 1986. He proceeded to and graduated in 1988 from San Francisco State University with degree in International Relations and Political Science. He met his wife of twenty years in 1986, while working at the Children Hospital in Oakland, and the rest is history. They are blessed with three children, Emmanuel Gbenga Ogunleye Jr. (18), Ariel Shade Ogunleye (15), and Yetunde Stephanie Ogunleye (10). The Ogunleye's made their home in Pittsburg California since 1992, and it remains their home. Emmanuel Ogunleye maintains a sterling reputation for success in all his endeavors. He is an advocate for improving the quality of life for families in all our neighborhoods throughout the 11th District. He is a leader to set up an 11th District Leadership Group to discuss developing innovative community based programs to address crime, education, small business development and neighborhood revitalization. When confronted with HATCH ACT which precludes all government employees from running for partisan office, Emmanuel showed his resolve and commitment to serve and resigned his position. He is a man of faith, believer in strong family values and moral conviction, trustworthy, and a dedicated go getter who will listen, and work hard for our District. He is not your usual business as usual Politician. Emmanuel, Candidate for Assembly Emmanuel Ogunleye ("Emmanuel" as he is fondly called by all,) is the California Assembly Candidate for the 11th District. The District encompasses 18 cities and towns, each with its unique characteristics: Antioch, Bay Point, Bayview-Montalvin, Clayton, Clyde, Concord, Crockett, El Sobrante, Hercules, Martinez, Mountain View, Pacheco, Pinole, Pittsburg, Port Costa, Rodeo, Tara Hills, and Vine Hills. Prior to his candidacy for Assembly, Emmanuel was an accomplished senior administrator for different County, State- and Federal government agencies (Alameda County Welfare, California State Social Security Disability, California State Department of Health Services, and Social Security Administration/Regional Office Quality Assurance) Like you, Emmanuel believes our state needs to stop running from the big problems and start solving them. The issues that matter to us are not been addresses. Our schools are not getting better, commutes are getting worse, families are neglected, it is almost impossible to raise a family in our District, affording a home is becoming almost impossible and nobody is doing anything about affordable health care for the average family. We need to address health issues of Lead Poisoning as it affects children and adults, Carcinogenic in water, air and soil, and the effect of Electro Magnetic Frequency (EMF). As a working class man himself, Emmanuel knows that the average American works hard to balance their budgets monthly, something our leaders does not seem to understand. The national bipartisan magazine ranked California government the worst in the country, citing management problems such as the tower of debt and lack of investment in infrastructure, hence the gridlock on our road. Emmanuel is committed to real reform in our state government because he knows how much it matters here at home to East Bay Area families. A visionary administrator of sterling repute, Emmanuel is an accomplished public administrator with a wide range of exemplary experiences and knowledge of both the State and Federal Government operations. His knowledge and experience includes:
Emmanuel is a compassionate leader that wants to use his personal and professional background to foster change in the 11th District, consequently, enhance the life of the people that live there. His vision is to make the 11th District more functional by bringing better paying jobs, making neighborhood safer, enhancing diversity and inclusion, exposing all residents to equal economic opportunities and providing guidance on improving access to publicly available government resources/services. Emmanuel realizes the need for controlled Urban Sprawl and the need for immediate infrastructure improvement in the District. He will be a leading force behind allocating more Redevelopment Agency funds for enhancing neighborhoods, and for increased community-based improvements. Accomplishments: (A brief summary)
