Mike's public service began over 25 years ago as a Marine. After serving seven years on the Cypress City Council as Councilman and Mayor, Mike is running for the 67th Assembly District. From Marine to Mayor and now on a mission to Sacramento, Mike has never wavered in his determination to be a force for positive change.

Mike already knows his way around the State Capitol having lobbied for Workers Comp Reform and Proposition 1A to keep our local revenues, needed for police and fire, from being siphoned off by the State. He supported Prop 69 DNA Testing of jailed felons to track criminal histories and opposed Prop 66's repeal of the 3rd Strike Law. During the last presidential election, Mike served as 67th Assembly District Chair for the Republican Party's "Get Out the Vote" and led the largest turnout recorded for the District.

On City Council, Mike was instrumental in Cypress' successful effort to balance the budget, increase fiscal reserves by $3M, add needed law enforcement and lower the crime rate.

Mike is a well-respected businessman working in the insurance industry for 19 years. Now an owner of a small insurance agency, he specializes in commercial insurance for contractors and non-profit organizations. He also works as a District Marketing Manager for Farmers Insurance in Cypress. Mike earned his CPCU, Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, the highest commercial insurance designation.

Mike's county-wide community outreach includes service as a Board Member on the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) and Member of West Orange County Cities Association. He also serves on the Anaheim YMCA Board and volunteers as an Adult Leader for the Boy Scouts. His past service includes being a Board Member for the Cypress Boys & Girls Club and the Tri-Community Interfaith Council, as well as Site Committee Chair of Acacia Adult Day Services of Garden Grove.

Born in New York, Mike lived in Carlsbad for several years before attending Long Beach State where he earned his BS degree in Accounting.

As a 21-year resident of the District, Mike and his wife Nanette have been married for 23 years and they are devoted to their two boys Sean, 15, and Paul, 13. They've made their home in Cypress since 1985 when Mike was discharged from active duty in the Marine Corps. Mike served in the Marine Corps for 20 years on active duty and as a reservist.
