Sid Gold is a neighbor physician, community leader and resident of Granada Hills for 32 years. He and his wife of 39 years, Florence have raised their four children Darren, Kevin, Cindy and Amy here in the San Fernando Valley. He is a long time advocate for improvements in the education and health care systems. Presently, he is the Assistant Chief of Psychiatry for the Permanente Medical Group, Valley Service Area, where he helps coordinate the delivery of Mental Health Services to more than four hundred thousand members

Sid has participated in the formation of the Granada Hills North Neighborhood Council and is currently a vice-chairperson of the Board. He is an advocate of grassroots involvement and is supportive of redistricting reform, advisory councils for the assembly district and "Clean Money Campaigns". He has been active in the North Valley Coalition in their struggle against expansion of the Sunshine Canyon Dump. He has an active interest in the Santa Susana Field Testing Laboratory and as a physician expresses his concern about the environmental hazards posed to the Simi Valley and Chatsworth residents. He is an advocate of Smart Growth development and believes in the active participation of the community in any projects planned.

Sid is an activist in the Democratic Party and is presently president of the North Valley Democratic Club, a former chair of the 38th Assembly District and elected to the Los Angeles Democratic Party County Committee.

In addition, Sid is a member of the Board of Directors of the Physician's Aid Association of Los Angeles, a member of the Planning and Allocation Committee of the Valley Alliance, a member of the Northridge Kiwanis, a delegate to the California and American Medical Associations.

Sid Gold is the candidate with a firm grasp of the issues that are important to voters in the 38th district. He brings an expertise to the assembly race as the candidate who is a medical doctor, a husband and father, with a long time understanding of the needs of the family and the community. He provides experience in medical issues and educational concerns that are of major importance to his district. He looks forward to being your representative and your voice in Sacramento.
