I am running for the California State Assembly to refocus our state's leaders on issues that matter to Californians.

As a Supervising Deputy Attorney General I helped to find the evidence that proved Enron's manipulation of California's energy market. I have taken on big special interests, like Enron and the other out-state energy companies that gouged California consumers, and won. I will put this experience to work for you in Sacramento.

I have made education my top priority. As your representative in the California State Assembly I will work to restore California to the "Top 10" among states, in school funding and student achievement. To achieve this goal, we will have to take on some of the most entrenched interests in our State. I have taken on big special interests in the past and I won't hesitate to do it again.

California was built on innovation and an investment in high quality education is vital for the future health of our State. To get California back in the Top 10 in funding for education we will need to change the priorities in Sacramento. We will have to take on the big interests that support prisons, we will need to take on the big business interests looking for tax breaks and we will have to bring real equity to our tax system.

I know that with your support we will succeed in our fight to give our children the best possible education.

I share the values of our community. I will work to encourage the use of renewable energy, protect our environment, put a moratorium on new casino gambling, address our budget issues, create an efficient transportation system and tackle the growing health care crisis.

My campaign is different--it is focused on developing new ideas for taking on our toughest problems. I am running a truly grassroots campaign because it will give me the independence to work in your interests, not on behalf of the special interests.

I would be honored to have your support.
