By Renee Chavez

Candidate for Member of the State Assembly; District 57; Democratic Party

This information is provided by the candidate
Renee Chavez is one tough mom. She understands that without discipline, care and attention-children won't grow into successful adults.
Renee Chavez is one tough mom. She understands that without discipline, care and attention-children won't grow into successful adults.

As Mayor of La Puente, Renee has put some of those principles to work for our local neighborhoods.

Today, there are fewer gang-related crimes in her community. That's because she put more cops on the street and helped create after school programs to prevent youth violence.

As a board member of the Sanitation District, Renee is making sure that the BKK Landfill is managed properly to protect the quality of our drinking water. Renee understands that clean air, clean water, and more parks mean healthier families and better neighborhoods.

As a health care worker, Renee has worked to promote local health care access. She's helped provide local residents with free screenings and information about heath concerns-like cancer, diabetes, and high cholesterol.

On the City Council, Renee has been a tough fiscal watch dog. By making sure the city budget is balanced, she has helped create a business-friendly atmosphere that has brought more good paying jobs for the city.

Like we said, she's one tough mom and one tough mayor-and she'll be one tough legislator, too.
