During my six years as a Republican Member of the House of Representatives I fought tirelessly to enact the Contract with American which delivered smaller government, lower taxes, and a balanced federal budget to the American voters. As a former County Supervisor, Mayor, and Councilmember I understand that the type of government that works best is government that is closest to the people. This is what I believe in and what I will fight for again as a Member of Congress.
