District Attorney; County of Sonoma

The role of the District Attorney is to seek justice. This means understanding our community, using limited resources carefully, showing compassion and exercising discretion on a daily basis.

I was a prosecutor for seventeen years. I have handled all types of cases, ranging from driving under the influence to sexually violent crimes to gang violence to murders.

I understand the wounds a crime can cause and the healing power of justice. I also understand what it takes to keep the criminal justice system working. As your District Attorney, I will do the following: work to alleviate court congestion through decisive action; protect the rights of the crime victims as well as defendants; ensure effective use of your taxpayer dollars; work closely with other law enforcement agencies to increase the safety of the community; and place experienced and well trained prosecutors in the courtrooms.

I will be a strong voice for the people, committed to doing the right thing with sound judgment and integrity.
